Family fun day to celebrate Queen’s Baton Relay
Victoria Common in Northfield is to host a Queen’s Baton Relay themed community sports day on Saturday 11 June
The route the Queen’s Baton Relay will take through Birmingham will be revealed on Saturday 11 June.
The 16th official Queen’s Baton Relay will arrive in the city on 27 July for a two-day tour ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony.
To mark the occasion, a family fun afternoon has been organised at Victoria Common, Northfield, in conjunction with Community Games – a Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games legacy funding project.
From midday onwards, an array of different sports and activities will be available for all to try out for free including a Queen’s Baton themed relay, boxing, judo, face painting and much more!
Heart FM’s Ed James will be giving out prizes and goodies throughout the afternoon and there will be the chance to find out more about the Queen’s Baton Relay.
The Community Games at Victoria Common is from midday to 5pm, on Saturday 11 June, Victoria Common, Church Road, Northfield, Birmingham B31 2BB
