Saima and Piero discuss at length the city’s diversity and inclusivity, the opportunities hosting Birmingham 2022 will bring and the challenges that lie ahead.

“If you look back at the impact that London 2012 had on the country as a whole – it got so many more people interested in sport and so many more participating in sport,” says Piero.

“I think for Birmingham it’s our time.

“It’s our time to shout about the city and celebrate the city. And to show how diverse and inclusive we are.”
