Who is involved in delivering the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham?
The core partnership includes: Birmingham City Council (BCC), Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Commonwealth Games England (CGE), Birmingham 2022 Organising Committee (OC) and West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).
There are numerous other key organisations, national bodies and neighbouring host local authorities involved in delivering a successful Commonwealth Games. Each partner has a lead responsibility for the main delivery programmes.
Birmingham City Council: Infrastructure, Community, Cohesion, Civic Pride and Community Fund.
BCC Games Programme: Build, Host City Operations and Community Legacy
Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport: Physical activity and Wellbeing.
West Midlands Combined Authority: Business and Tourism, Jobs and Skills, and Transport.
Birmingham 2022 Organising Committee: Cultural programme, Learning programme, Accessibility, Sustainability and Games Delivery.
