Birmingham is a welcoming city with a vibrant culture. We know our residents have pride in where they live and a strong sense of belonging.

In 2022 the Commonwealth Games will deliver a world-class cultural programme which highlights the creativity of Birmingham, and the West Midlands, and showcases what’s brilliant about our Birmingham with the rest of the world.

Volunteers will be at the heart of these Games and the city’s residents will be encouraged to support the Games by acting as Host City Volunteers. By involving all communities and young people from across the city, the Games will inspire and help individuals, groups and communities to develop new skills and provide positive experiences that will deliver benefits long after the Games are over.

The Celebrating Communities programme is helping local communities to celebrate the Games their way. We want residents across Birmingham to feel part of this event, to come together and have fun!
